Becky D. Murphy

Becky D. Murphy, 70, of Springfield, passed away on September 18, 2023 at her residence. She was born on January 8, 1953 in Springfield to Scott. T. Rodgers and Grace Clements. Becky married Alvin Murphy on November 14, 1980 and he survives.

Mrs. Murphy is also survived by her children: Jason James-Lee Murphy of Springfield and Jeremy Lee (Kierra Gudgel) Murphy of Quincy, four siblings: John Michael Rodgers, Elizabeth “Betty” Bellin, Mary Helen Hoffman and Sue Ann Long as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother Scott Rodgers and one sister Bonnie Rodgers.

Becky worked for Kmart for 29 ½ years and Walmart for 16 years. She served in check out, lawn and garden, layaway, electronics and as a supervisor. Becky loved diamond points, crocheting, knitting and country music especially the Statler Brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
