Barbara M. Bauer

She was born in Morrisonville, IL September 30, 1931 the only daughter of Miller R. and Mary E (Haubner) Beaman. She was a graduate of Taylorville High School. She married Joseph W. Spresser Jr and later, Richard T. Bauer, both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Denny Beaman.

Barb retired from National Cash Register Co where she served as a systems engineer. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville. Barb enjoyed living in Florida but would return to central Illinois to be near family. She was very involved at the Christian County Senior Center where she would socialize and enjoyed playing bridge and other various card games. She enjoyed bus trips, especially to the Paradise Casino in East Peoria. She loved living at the Taylorville Estates. She made many friends and took part in the activities there, her favorite being BINGO. She found joy in crocheting. Barb was a strong supporter and member of the VFW, honoring her husband’s service.

Surviving are her three children: Deborah Justice of Sebring, Florida, Camille (husband Brett) Moore of Eldridge, Iowa, and Joseph W. Spresser III (companion Doris Sparks) of Millington, Michigan, eight grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren, her three brothers: Jack Beaman and Darryll (wife Beverly) Beaman, both of Taylorville, Illinois, and Bill Beaman of Dixon, Iowa. She has several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch and Son Crematory. A memorial mass will be held at a time to be announced at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylorville, IL. Inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL
