Augusta A. "Gussie" Jones, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at her home. She was born on September 1, 1923 in Koflach, Austria, the daughter of Frederick and Maria Wittreich Zarf. Augusta and her family immigrated to America when she was just 5 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. Jones; four brothers; and three sisters. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Patricia Sabo, Frank Ziri (Carol), Pamela Bischoff (Todd), Fred Zarf III. (Karen), and Becky Lamkey (Kendall); and many great-nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10: 45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Isaacson, SJC officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
