Ashley was born April 30, 1983, in Springfield, the daughter of George W. and Lucinda L. Rees Franklin.
She attended Lincoln Land Community College and was employed as a certified nursing assistant. Ashley had a kind soul and a good heart. She loved her children and was always there to lend a helpful hand.
Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Lucinda Franklin; paternal grandfather, Wallace Dean Franklin; and maternal grandfather, Richard Rees.
She is survived by her son, Devin Kennedy of Springfield; daughter, Savannah Kennedy of Springfield; sisters, Deana (husband, Jim) Anderson of Decatur and April Franklin of Springfield; grandmothers, Mary Lee Rees and Frances Franklin; nieces and nephews, Sierrah Stroisch, Griffin Stroisch, Landon Franklin, and Daisy Anderson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Private family ceremonies will be held with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
