She was born in Chicago on October 17, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Katherine Tamona Scavone.
Ann was very loving and caring. She owned her own beauty shop before staying home to raise her children. Ann was an outstanding Italian cook and enjoyed sharing meals with her family. She loved to play Bingo, Aggravation, and gamble. Ann was a faithful member of Christ the King Church as well as the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. #755.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Janas; her parents; sisters, Mildred Levand, Darlene Luta, and Geraldine Zanghi; brother, Michael Scavone; daughters-in-law, Carol Janas and Evie Meyer; and sons-in-law, Kookie England and Paul S. Taplin, Sr.
Ann is survived by her son, Mark “Doc” Janas; daughters, Donna (Buck) England and Maria Janas-Taplin; grandchildren, Tara (Josh) Mitts, Rhett (Shelbi) England, James Taplin, Kylie (Daniel Lazar) Janas, Jordan (Corey Branson) Taplin; great-grandchildren, Anthony Hurley, Bryce Mitts, Payton Folder-Janas, and Scarlett England; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Father Christopher House officiating.
Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
