He was born on May 16, 1956, in Decatur, IL, the son of Alfonso and Ethel (Baker) Boggs. Albert married Carol Havrilka on May 23, 1977, in Springfield.
Albert graduated from Lanphier High School. He joined the Air National Guard and honorably served his country for 21 years. Albert also worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 34 years. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, woodworking, collecting coins and clowns, and spinning a lot of stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Lanter.
Albert is survived by his wife, Carol Boggs of Springfield; four children, Misty (Anthony) Smith of Springfield, Carol (Jason) Withers of Cantrall, Michelle (Larry) Rhodes of Springfield, and Chris (Christy) Boggs of Edinburg; siblings, Wallace (Barbara) Lanter, Kathy (Roger) Rybolt, Robert (Kim) Boggs, and Ronnie (Pam) Boggs; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two more great-grandchildren on the way.
Memorial Gathering and Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. A memorial ceremony will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Rob Sgambelluri officiating. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings. Ceremonies will begin with military honors provided by Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and Department of Defense.
