Adeline E. Fowler, 80, of Springfield, passed away at 6:57 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. Adeline was born May 13, 1921 the daughter of John and Marie E. Miller Britz in Springfield. She married Lawrence Fowler in Clayton, MO; he preceded her in death in June 1977. Adeline was employed at Memorial Medical Center as a nurse; she retired after 25 years of services. She was a member of Living Faith Baptist Church and the Memorial Medical Center Retirees Club. She had also been an active volunteer for Memorial Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lawrence; two sisters: Evelyn Fleming and Wanda McPeek. She is survived by one son: Michael W. (wife, Suzanne) Fowler, Sr. of Springfield; one stepson: Melvin (wife, Sarah) Fowler of Caseyville; two brothers: John W. Britz, Sr. of Cantrall, James “Jim” Britz of Springfield; two sisters: Gladys Corea of Springfield, Betty Wessing of Florida; five grandchildren, including: Michelle Fowler of Springfield, Michael (wife, Dianna) Fowler of Springfield; three great grandchildren, including: Blake Fowler and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home from 5-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 2002. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Emerson officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
