Mary Lynne Holbrook

Mary Lynne Holbrook passed away on Sunday December 19, 2021 at the age of 71. Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Darrell Holbrook of Springboro, daughter Alison and son-in-law Amoury Hollins, her Grandchildren Aiden and Ava Hollins of West Chester, her sister Cathe (Jerry) Folkerth of West Carrollton, Nephew Tom (Melissa) Wright of Ft. Thomas, Nieces Amanda (Chris) Danley of Las Vegas, Ashley (Andy) Norman of Yellow Springs and numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her beloved son Matthew Holbrook, and her parents Thomas and Trudy (Wedig) Williams.

Mary graduated from West Carrollton High School in 1968 where she met Darrell, the love of her life and made many life-long friends. She was a proud member of “The Carrolltones” the school’s kick-line team and the school yearbook club. Some of her dearest friends went all the way back to grade school and have shared all of life’s happiness and hardships.

Lover of Jewelry and all things fabulous, Mary was a proud Brand Ambassador for Grace and Heart jewelry. Mary’s proudest accomplishment was the family she spent her whole life loving and raising. She was a vibrant lady who shared happiness and unapologetic truth to those around her. There was not much that a big hug, or a glass of wine and a heart to heart couldn’t solve.

She loved to shop. She once said, “I’ve shopped so much in my life that my ashes should be spread over the Mall of America”. Adopting the name “Mimi” instead of “Grandma” in 2001, Mary spent every day loving her two grandchildren more than any grandchildren had ever been loved. She and Darrell were an ever present part of their family and friends lives. Their home was often referred to as “Camp Holbrook”. She was an amazing cook and rarely could anyone turn down one of Mary’s dinners. She just had a way of making things special for the people that she loved.

Mary will be missed beyond words by so many. May she rest peacefully surrounded by her heavenly family; her son, parents, and the many friends that she has lost along the way. A Celebration of her Life will be held this spring, with details to follow.
