I'm very sorry for your loss.  Jared was such a fun-loving nice guy.  I taught him in two classes during his senior year of high school.  He always found a way to make me laugh, while being respectful at the same time.  Jared was my kind of student.    He made teaching fun.    He will be missed.

You are a great family and I know you will be there for each other during this extremely difficult time.   Prayers are being sent your way!

Family ski trips at Boyne Mountain with The Smiths were a highlight of my childhood. Jared and I were attached at the hip on these vacations - we shared the chair lift, the back seat of the mini van, cheese fries at the cafeteria. We made each other laugh by attempting tricks and showing off. We helped each other up after falling down. We huddled around the tiny television in our tiny cabin. Jared was so easy to be with. I'll look back on these memories with joy and sadness and miss him dearly. 

I worked with Jared in the School Age classroom at The Day Academy in 2010-2011, and also worked under his mother who was an owner at the time. I remember him being popular with the kids, as he would play games with them, talk to them, and help them with their homework. He was a great team player and we got along well as coworkers. Sending my condolences and well wishes to his family in the difficult time.

Jared was one of the nicest people I went to school with. We were on the same bus all throughout Incarnation and he was always kind to me. He was a great guy and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. 

I had many long conversations about nothing at all with Jared. He was so easy to talk to. He emanated an authenticity that is much needed and all too rare in this world. His candor and wit made physical therapy school just a little more bearable. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I am grateful for having known him.

Smith family, 

I was a PT school classmate of Jared’s. He was so kind and always willing to help others! We enjoyed talking about college basketball, especially during March madness. He will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. Thoughts and prayers to all who loved him.

I was a PT school classmate of Jared’s.  Though I was much older than most of my classmates, Jared and I found camaraderie in our love of Bob Huggins and college basketball.  I will remember him for his unfailing kindness and sense of humor.  He helped make the arduous  journey through PT school bearable for me.  I am heartbroken upon hearing of his passing, and I offer his family my heartfelt sympathies.  I hope that you find peace in the coming weeks and months.  Please know that you are in my thoughts. Jared was a loved member of our Buckeye Home Health Care family.  He was a joy to work with.  He always had a smile on his face and was kind and considerate to his fellow workers and his patients.  
The last time he stopped by to visit I asked him if there was anything we could do for him. He told me  of the support he received from his parents and how much he loved and appreciated them.  I thought you should know that.  
He was a kind and gentle soul and we will miss him. 

  I kept searching for the perfect words to comfort you... but there are no words to soothe the loss of a beloved child.  All that really remains is the hope that your faith, love from those whose lives you have touched, and memories of the wonder that was your son can somehow temper your sorrow.
 
Sadly, I never met Jason, but I know he must have been special because he had Bob and JoAnn as parents.   I am sure his grace remains part of your reflection.  
 
Last night we had a breathtaking sunset...and I found myself thinking of you and your loss.  In a poor but well-meaning attempt to capture that moment, I offer this verse in honor of your son:
 
The rays gently alight upon creation
     In shards of warmth bathing perfect and flawed
Proffered by souls who remembered the darkness
     To light their loved ones return to God.
