Denise Curry, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on December 5, 2024. The only child of Carl Douglas Dillon and Elon (Brinegar) Dillon, Denise was born on May 2, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her father. She will be remembered and missed by her mother, husband Dave and sons Jordan (Kylea) Frei, Tad (Alicia) Frei, Addison (Ashley) Frei, Garrett (Kaiti Walker) Frei, beloved stepsons Nicholas (Brooke) Curry and Adam (Krista) Curry, and 15 grandchildren.
Denise was known for her warm and generous personality, endless positivity, and love of the holidays. She made huge family meals and welcomed everyone in her home. She was a homecoming queen, a caregiver, and a source of unconditional love and support for her sons. She loved telling stories of childhood trips to the family home in Tennessee, Buckeye games with her husband, snuggling her Golden Retrievers, and a good cup of coffee. What she loved more than anything, however, was being Mom and Grammie to a large and loving family. She brought immeasurable joy and light to the lives of all who loved her. Grammie was a pillar of grace, warmth, and wonder to her 15 grandchildren. Being with her guaranteed big, warm hugs and laughter, a safe space, and your own personalized, homecooked meal. Denise had a way of making each of her children and grandchildren feel special and loved. Even with such an enormous family to care for, she could always make you feel like you’re the only person on the planet, and you always felt loved and unique. She spent time with her grandchildren working to create, cultivate, and foster lifelong traditions and memories. She will be dearly and forever missed.
Private services will be held for immediate family at a later date.
