Claude Daniel “Dan” Fryman, widower of Marion Clay Fryman, departed this life on Monday, July 22nd, 2024, in Springboro, OH. He was born in Bourbon County, KY on August 24, 1932, the son of the late O.C. “Buck” and Claudia Tobin Fryman. Dan grew up on the Claiborne Farm where his father was the foaling manager. He was a graduate of Paris High School where he played football and basketball. He was an Eagle Scout. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Dan graduated from the University of Kentucky upon the completion of his military service. After graduation Dan went to work for General Electric Company where he had a 36-year career serving in a variety of executive leadership roles in the Consumer Products Division. Dan and Marion grew up together in Paris, KY and started dating during college and married upon Dan’s graduation. Dan and Marion were devoted to one another, and they enjoyed a beautiful 68- year marriage. Dan and Marion lived in 12 different cities in the US over the course of his career with GE. Upon retirement they moved to the Walden Community in Montgomery, TX where they lived for the past 30 years. Dan and Marion loved to spend time with their Walden friends, traveling around the world on cruise ships, playing bridge and golf. During his first ten years of retirement, Dan invested himself in golf, fishing and grandkids. The next 15 years were spent serving in the community as an Elder at Walden Community Church, President and board member of the Walden Property Owners Association and as a Board Member of the Walden Municipal Utility District. Dan was a devoted husband, much-loved father and grandfather and is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Clay “Beth” (John) Wiercinski; son Daniel Peale “Dan” (Penni) Fryman; six grandchildren Lauren Mary (Michael) Dugan; Adam Daniel (Christine) Wiercinski; Clay Braden Wiercinski; Daniel John (Lindsey) Fryman; Anna Louise (Daniel) Miller and Christopher Collier Fryman. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Julia Dugan, Claire Dugan, Hadley Wiercinski, Livy Miller, Caden Miller, Eli Fryman, Judah Fryman and numerous nieces and nephews.
