Catherine Mae Jones (Absher) was born on March 16th 1939 in Charter Oak, Missouri to Nellie Baugher (Asher) and Deward Elmer Absher. She was born and raised in Missouri until she met the love of her life Jerry W. Jones. Cathy and Jerry were married on October 4th, 1958 and were blessed with a dedicated, loyal, and loving marriage for 65 years. They created a home in Wichita, Kansas relocated to Alamagordo, New Mexico, to Renton, Washington, then to Springboro, Ohio. Springboro was home to Cathy and Jerry for over 40 years where they raised their sons and watched their family grow with each generation. Cathy gave birth to their first son, Craig and then shortly following to their twin sons Steve (Bobbi) and Mike (Elizabeth) in Wichita, Kansas. Cathy was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. Cathy dedicated her life to Christ and proudly exemplified her love of Jesus Christ through her kind spirit, gentleness, and unconditional faith. Cathy spent her life nurturing her family, offering spiritual guidance to those who sought her comfort, and cultivating a life for God through the fruit of her spirit. Cathy was a women’s Aglow Fellowship International member and the treasurer and President at the Middletown Chapter for 5 years. She was a member of Clearcreek Christian Assembly for over 20 years under Pastor Bruce Moore and was an avid doner to Operation Smile. Cathy participated in countless mission trips around the world and was a passionate humanitarian and philanthropist. Cathy was known as “Honey” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cathy was blessed with 10 grandchildren, (Craig-Makaya, Miranda, Antoni); (Steve & Bobbi- Christopher, Matthew, Joshua, Gabriella, Lucas); (Mike & Elizabeth- Chasity Mae, Jacob); and 8 great- grandchildren (Christopher & Sarah- Archer, Ezri Catherine); (Chasity Mae & Bradley- Maddalyn, Melody, Malyha); (Jacob & Tessa- Carson, Hayleigh Mae, Sophia Catherine *Due in May). Cathy peacefully passed in the early hours of February 7, 2024 after battling an aggressive form of breast cancer for over a year. She will forever be remembered as our treasure and missed dearly. Cathy’s legacy will live on through the spiritual gifts she passed to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and will forever be remembered as a remarkably influential root in the growth and bloom of our family tree. “Family- Like the branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.”
Vistitation is 11am to 12pm at the Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St Springboro, OH on Friday February 9, 2024 followed by the Funeral Service at 12pm with Pastor Bob Baugher Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.
