Norman J. Goldberg, 75, a longtime resident of Congers, NY, died peacefully after a long illness on Friday October 5, 2012. Norman was born on March 12, 1937 in New York City. He was predeceased by his parents Mac & Libbie Goldberg, and his sisters, Sydelle Hertzfield & Toby Harty. Norman worked as a plumber in NYC and later owned and operated Deforest Plumbing and Heating in Rockland County. He later became a Plumbing Inspector in Rockland County in 2000 and retired in 2010. He was a member of the NY State Plumber's Union, Masonic Temple, and a proud active member of Congers Rotary. Norman is survived by his nieces Stacey Roach and husband John of Mesa, AZ, Helene Miracle and nephew Dr. Matthew Harty of Phoenix, AZ. Great nephews Michael John Roach, Tristan John Willett-Harty, and nieces, Christie Brooke Miracle, and Tricia Toby Willett-Harty, as well as, man's best friend Max.
Norman will be forever missed by his family, friends, and longtime business associates.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Hellman Memorial Chapel, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY. Interment will follow at Congregation Sons of Israel Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
