A Dad who never failed to give when it was needed. Mike Harris was a family man, expander, a caregiver, and a creator of all things good. He expanded the business he co-founded with his sister so his family could work by his side. He expanded his home to make sure his ever-growing family and many, many close friends could stay or visit a little while longer. He was a visionary and was clearly happiest surrounded by his family and friends. He was a loving son and nephew who helped take car of his elders as they aged. Mike was “the life of the party” and at the same time, the rock that everyone who knew him also knew they could depend on. You could always count on Mike to deliver a cold shot of Stoli and a laugh, or for some sound counsel and loving advice. His contagious smile paired with the sparkle in his eye when he greeted all he met, his sense of humor, his integrity and honor exemplified in everything he accomplished and the amazing family he leaves behind is a true testament to the formidable hero that was and always will be Mike Harris.
Michael Keith Harris (Mike) entered eternal rest too soon on August 9, 2021. Mike was born in the Bronx on August 17, 1957, and grew up with his loving parents, Sally and Harvey Harris, two brothers, David and Alex and Sister Randy in Rockland County. He graduated from Ramapo High School in 1975 and went on to attend SUNY Brockport and graduated from PACE University with a degree in business. He founded Smooth Solutions with his sister Randy in 1995, a pioneer company in the document scanning sector.
Mike loved just hanging by the pool surrounded by those he loved, playing Gin Rummy with his dear friend and longtime neighbor Frank, the Grateful Dead, fishing with his kids and his cousin Scott on Greenwood Lake and vacations in Lake George., trying new restaurants and anything that included spending time with his family. Mike was not afraid to live and love life. A “ripple in still water”, Mike’s contagious zest for life, lives in the ripples of his journey live on in his children and grandchildren. “He’s gone, nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile” because that is what Mike would want.
Mike leaves behind his beloved children, Brandon, Amber, Mallory and Hudson, his adoring grandchildren Jack and Ella, his nieces Karianne, Katie and Sally, nephews Joseph and Jacob, his brother Alexander wife Marcia, the mothers of his children Leslie Harris and Julie Boyd, and his loving girlfriend Lisa Katz.
