I am a nurse at WMC and have such fond memories of Mr. Holt.  Always such a grateful guy and always giving back to other patients. He would  come to visit the nurses on the units and bring small red heart pins....I remember the wedding in CTCU... I wasn’t there but saw many pics of that beautiful day.....

My heart is broken. My good friend David, God called you home too soon. You had so much more to do. Bye to the  mensch of all times.  😘

David was the epitome of the servant leader.  Kind, gracious, selfless and open to all possibilities.  Through his words, his work and in his deeds he inspired those around him to believe in themselves, and to make with world a better place.  He will be missed.

Oh, my, David.  You were my first love.  We were only 11 at the time and you, having an older brother, knew about sex.  You told me your version of it and scared me to death.  We went to the movies and you were so interested in the picture that you put a chocolate almond into your ear, instead of your mouth.  We had to go to a doctor's office to get it out.  So many memories.  Lost touch for many years and connected again, briefly, when I came to New York (don't remember the year).  Some email exchanges and now this.  I will miss you and the memory of you.  

Sincere condolences to the Holt family. I enjoyed the many years I worked with David. He epitomized class and professionalism. He worked in the best interest of every student and family. He was a gifted educator and administrator. May he Rest In Peace. 

David was an amazing administrator, teacher and friend. He was a tireless supporter during his time in Briarcliff, and his passion for special education was unparalleled. But it was David's warmth and dedication that made him so special to so many. Mentor and friend, David will be greatly missed. He loved life, his family and his friends and his colleagues. He positively impacted countless students and families. David was one -of-a-kind, driven by  the passion in both his first and second hearts. David left an indelible mark on the world. May his memory continue to make us smile. xo

Condolences to the Holt family for this enormous loss.  David was a sweet, endearing man who spent many years supporting so many families with challenging children in Briarcliff. I was the first and only student in a wheelchair at school, and with Mr. Holt's support, I was able to succeed.  I would not be where I am today without the inclusive environment he helped build just for me.  Thank you, Mr. Holt, and may you rest in peace.

From our LIU college days together to hanging out with him and Stefany when we all first visited the Museum of Modern Art, to being the Best Man at their wedding, I’ll always miss his re-assuring voice, wit and wisdom.
A true warrior, fighting the good fight for liberals, raising two exceptional daughters, and as a dedicated, respected and much admired educator and administrator, Dave fought his latest health battle with the courage and steadiness that made him special.
He was the Best Man.

My sincere condolences to the Holt family for the loss of your husband, father and grandfather.  David was a gentleman, an educator of the highest caliber and a wonderful human being. His dedication to children with disabilities was inspiring.  I worked with him for many years in Briarcliff and his support for those of us who taught “his” students was without question.  It was a privilege to know him and to work with him.  Rest In Peace David!

Where to start? Our mother's putting us in the same baby carriage together. Kindergarten with Mrs. Walsh and fifth grade with Mr. Greenhill and then finding him 40 years later and taking him to lunch. Being in the Mikado together in 6th grade and giggling because we had to sing "Tit-Willow." Cutting school to go to Mets games at the Polo Grounds and Shea Stadium. Getting kicked out of a Saturday matinee at the Midway because we were acting like jerks. Our made up radio shows with the phony salon hair appointments for Y.A. Tittle (Giants Quarterback who was bald). The great things we did for kids in Briarcliff Manor and the wonderful job you did 3 weeks ago in one of my graduate classes. My 11 day older big brother! Love you, man!!!

What a special day it was when Eden became part of our family. Not only did I get a wonderful daughter in law and two delicious grandsons but I got Stephanie and David,her loving parents.How I loved being with them! I will always remember the warm hugs that I got from David and Stephanie too!!Rest in peace dear David. Love Mimi
