Allison Joy Silverman, born 12/31/1968, died quietly in Rockland County after a protracted illness on May 28, 2022. She leaves behind her beloved parents Norman and LoraMay Silverman, and her adored brother Ethan. Her oldest brother, Richard, had passed away on August 18, 2006. Other grieving family members include her sister-in-law Amy (Richard’s widow), her nephews Matthew, Joshua, and Douglas, and her niece Brianna. Other close family members who feel bereft at Allison’s passing include LoraMay’s sister Beth-Ann and brother-in-law Ian. A funeral service for immediate family and close friends was held on June 1, 2022, what would have been her maternal grandmother’s birthday. Allison was someone whom you may have met only once, but you would always remember. Her feistiness, quick wit, and love of life was contagious. She had definite opinions about everything, which she readily shared with all. Allison loved to read, and retained what she read. If you asked her the plot of anything she had read a while ago, she could quote you chapter and verse, with all the appropriate expressions. She loved quiz shows, and often shouted out the answer before the contestants. Allison loved to travel. Every new place was a new adventure for her to enjoy and experience. If you liked musical theater, she would be the one to accompany you. She remembered the songs and sang them again and again along with a CD of the show. Spending time with Allison would brighten your day, and you would recall that encounter with joy. Allison loved life and did not go quietly into that dark night. But now she is at peace and we are left with our memories of this beautiful, unique, and incredible person who left us all too soon.
