Aaron Israel Rand, 87, of Spring Valley, New York, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2020, in Suffern, New York. Aaron was born in the Bronx, New York on April 25, 1933 to Anna and William Rand. He was 87 years old. His older sister Phyllis Rand Zeve passed away in July 2019.
Aaron is survived by his beloved wife of 41 happy years, Faye Rand, his daughters, Eileen Whelan (Kevin), Wendy Winick (Mitchell), son, David Rand (Dorothy), Faye’s son, Robert Eisenson, and nieces, Denise Cowan (Jeff) and Barbara Petilli Lutz (Don).
Aaron graduated from the High School of Industrial Arts in NY with his best friends, “the twins”, Marv and Harv. He was the first of his guy friends to have a car and he loved driving especially to go bowling, to Adverturers Inn, and Yonkers.
He was a veteran in the US Army who served his country in Germany during the Korean War.
Aaron owned Rand Bookbinding Co in NYC until he retired. He worked there after being in the Army learning the trade from his father, William Rand.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends playing scrabble, poker, barbecuing, dining out and especially his Lobster dinner every Birthday.
Private family Cryptside Services for Aaron will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, 11:30 AM, at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey.
