Susan Anna Sprague

Mother-in-Law ~ Grandma ~ Wife ~ Aunt ~ Sister ~ Daughter ~ and Friend to many!!

Susan Anna Sprague, 83, passed away on March 11th, 2025 while resting peacefully at home in Spring Hill, FL amongst her loving family. She was born on November 17th, 1941 in Mahopac, NY to the late Guerino & Rose DiLandro whom both naturized to America from Naples, Italy. Susan was united in marriage with Robert Royce Sprague, Sr. on November 5th, 1960 at the church of St. Dennis in Hopewell Jct., NY, after falling in love as young teenagers. Susan & Bob spent most of their adult lives residing in Pawling, NY, where they lived on the following estates which Bob managed: Dutchess Valley Rod & Gun Club. Pawling Mountain Club & Top Gallant Farm/Sculpture Park, before relocating to Spring Hill, FL in mid-2007. One of Susan’s greatest accomplishments was being inducted into the National Honor Society in 1959 and being the first in her family to do so! Even though her initial career dream was to become a social worker, she accomplished that and more in her work as an amazing support and nucleus to her family, friends and anyone she touched!! After being an at-home, amazing mother to 4 beautiful children, Susan started her adult career as a Pharmacy Technician where she worked at both Grand Union and CVS in Pawling, NY for 30+ years. Aside from her career, Susan truly loved and was loved by many for her kind heart! Many will remember her by her powerful and very strong spirit! The most special time to Susan was laughing with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren making lasting memories. Being the nucleus to our family, her phone never stopped ringing and/or her calling everyone! This woman was not only strong, but a true inspiration to her family and friends for being a 2-time breast cancer survivor, survivor of a life changing injury from a traumatic motor vehicle accident and a LVO stroke survivor not to mention a significant health scare following the birth of her 2nd child! For ALL of this and more, she was a true a “guiding light” illuminating what a powerful woman can do and BE!

Susan was predeceased by her husband Robert “Bob” Sprague, whom went to be with our Lord on August 12, 2018 after nearly 58 years of marriage. After being born as 1 of 8 children, Susan is currently survived by her only living brother, Warren (Alice) DiLandro of NC. In addition, Susan is survived by her children: Chester Sprague of Spring Hill, FL, Robert (Kathy) Sprague of Panama City, FL, John (Connie) Sprague of Pawling, NY, Helen (David) Sztroin of Spring Hill, FL. God”son”: John (Jessica) Singleton of Hernando Beach, FL, Grandchildren: Heather (TJ) Kenny of Poughquag, NY, Nicole Sprague of Saluda, SC, Alyssa Sprague of Spring Hill, FL, Madison Sprague of Panama City, FL, Stephanie Sprague of Tallahassee, FL, Daniel Jones of Spring Hill, FL, Krystal Jones of Spring Hill, FL, John Sprague of Carmel, NY, Andrew Sprague of NYC & Jason Sprague of Pawling, NY. Great-Grandchildren: Oliver Kenny, Deus Barnett, Cameron Maxwell, Makayleigh Hill, Aryanna Hill, Hayden Cavanaugh, Robert Cavanaugh, Michael Cavanaugh, Sofia Cavanaugh, Kalin Sprague and Nicole’s baby “girl”, arriving in August!

A gathering of friends/family will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at 1pm at Turner Funeral Home for her “main service” in Spring Hill, FL immediately followed by a “Celebration of Life” reception with dinner/drinks at the Clubhouse @ Silverthorne, 4400 Mallard Lake, Spring Hill, FL. Be prepared to share your stories and many memories of Mom! On Friday, March 21st at 11am, our family will be having a Catholic Mass @ St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Roman Catholic Church. Any that would like are welcome to join us!
