after a short illness.
Ray, as his friends and family referred to him, was proceeded in death by his wife Rosemary Madaffari Lanzilotta, brother Russell M. Lanzilotta and his parents Angelo and Rose Lanzilotta. He is survived by his brother Robert C. Lanzilotta and his daughters Karen Lanzilotta Norkowski (late husband Charles) and Christine Lanzilotta Eppinger (Steven) and stepdaughters Kimberly Troy Benincaso, Karyn Troy Deering (Michael) and Kasey Troy Vukson, as well as his grandchildren.
Ray held a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Rutgers University and his career spanned many decades in the field of research and development in pharmaceutics and chemical development. In his later years, he ran his own computer set up company helping many small business owners with his IT skills.
In his early years, Ray and his wife Rosemary spent time supporting efforts at the Italian American Club in Norwalk, CT. Ray had a passion for trap shooting and spent many enjoyable Saturdays with friends at the Hernando County Sports Club. He also enjoyed indoor shooting which he did most often when visiting his daughter Christine and her family in Georgia. He also enjoyed football and rooting for the 49er’s and Eagles. He loved movies of all genres and was an avid reader, especially historical novels. His happiest years were spent in southern California, with his wife Rosemary, his friends and his daughter Karen and two grandchildren Trevor and Amelia.
Ray was a man of faith and gave of his time and talents to Grace Presbyterian where he was active as a deacon, an elder, as well as serving with the offering. He enjoyed Wednesday night meals and bible study.
Our family would like to extend a special thank you to the people at The Residence at Timber Pines and HPH Hospice in Spring Hill Florida for their loving care and support during his final days and for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
It was Ray’s wish to be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held later at Grace Presbyterian with his final resting back in Southern California.
