Ralph Allen Turnbull, Spring Hill, Fl, passed away June, 6, 2020. Ralph was born in Adair, Iowa on May 16, 1934. He grew up in Loves Park. IL and attended Harlem High School. He graduated from Rockford University
in Rockford, IL with a BS degree in Psychology. He was the first member of Mensa, the High IQ Society.
Ralph served 8 years in the Air Force, 1952 to 1960 where he was a Radio Operator and Code Breaker. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and a Gold Conduct Medal.
Ralph worked for Chrysler Corporation for 15 years under Lee Iacocca as Director of Human Resources.
Ralph was a full time Custom Knifemaker for almost 50 years. His knives are world renowned and in collections throughout the world. His specialty was working with unique materials such as Mosaic Damascus Steel,
and making handles crafted from materials like tigerwood and white and black ebony wood. Knife styles include Lock Back folders, fixed blade, folders, pocketknives, butterfly knives.
The family is most grateful for the long life of offering a foundation for the family, his sharp wit and kind heart. He lived a life on his own terms and with passion.
He is predeceased by his parents Paul and Glendora Turnbull (Alloway), Marvin Turnbull, brother, Nieces Keytha Martin and Kimberly Fanning
Surviving is his beloved and devoted wife of 58 years, Raenelle Turnbull.
Also surviving, Glen Turnbull, brother and sister- in-law Sandy; Marva Tatato, niece; Paula Turnbull, niece; Steve Turnbull, nephew, Brian Turnbull, nephew, Blaire Fanning (Willie Regalado Jr) niece; Great Niece
Brandi Martin Kane (Mark Kane); Great Nephew Shayne Martin (Emalie Martin); Great Niece RaeAnne Joiner (James Joiner 2nd); Great Niece Lindsey Meyer; Great Nephew, Taylor Martin; and Great Niece Kelsey Lambert ( Zach Lambert); Great great nieces and nephews
Jadin Bartkiewicz, Josilyn Bartkiewicz, Gavin Kane, Loren Kane, James Joiner 3rd, Karson Joiner, Conner Martin and Logan Martin. Also, Steve Juanette, who Ralph considered a nephew.
A service will be held at Bushnell National Cemetery Assembly Area with a date in August to be announced. Due to Covid-19, assembly is not yet allowed. Family will post here and Facebook. If you wish to send condolences
