Max Edward Gabbard III went home to Jesus Friday morning, January 11, 2019 after a year long battle with cancer. Max is survived by his two children, Max Gabbard IV and Alivia Gabbard. He is also survived by his parents, Max Gabbard Jr. and Kathryn Gabbard all of Spring Hill, Florida. Max has two siblings, Chris (Angela) Gabbard of Mesa, Az and Joy (Matt) Blough of Creston, Ohio and multiple nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Spring Hill Baptist Church, 3140 Mariner Blvd. Spring Hill, FL 34609, on Saturday Jan 18th, with visitation from 11am to 1 pm and a celebration of life ceremony officiated by Rev. Jim McComas, close personal friend and pastor of Max’s family, at 1 pm.
Max was born May 24, 1963 in Logan, WV. He grew up in Creston, Ohio and graduated from Norwayne High School in 1981. He was the starting point guard for the '79-'80 Norwayne Bobcat Varsity basketball championship team. Max loved drag racing with his brother and family, and was a frequent competitor at Norwalk Raceway Park. He moved to Florida in 2006, where he enjoyed spending time at the beach with friends and family and he also loved boating, fishing, softball and all kinds of sports.
Max had a successful lifelong career in the automotive industry from 1981 until his passing. He was the owner of the family-operated business, Gabbard Cars Inc. of Seville, Ohio. Most recently, he was the sales manager at Register RV in Spring Hill, Florida for thirteen years, where he loved helping customers and assisting the sales staff.
Max had a huge personality. He had a great sense of humor, and loved to spend time with his family and friends. We will miss him and everyone who knew him will miss him.
