Marilee Lavender Johnson

Marilee Lavender Johnson, age 84, passed away peacefully March 21, 2019. She was born May 2, 1934 in Delaware, Ohio to Oliver and Avenelle Lavender. She eloped and married her longtime sweetheart and Love, Terry Eldon Johnson on December 26, 1952 who preceded her in death in 1999.

Marilee was a dedicated wife and mother; she treasured her children, grandchildren and great grand children. She was known to many as Mrs. J or Grandma J. She made friends everywhere she went. One of our most treasured memories for her family will always be when you would tell her “I Love You”, she would always answer, “I love you more”. She is truly loved by many. She loved and enjoyed hearing country music and country line dancing. She loved spending endless hours watching her children, grand children and great grand children play soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, baseball, golf, wrestling and sing in choir. Marilee was a longtime server at the Hungry Fisherman in Indian Rocks Beach. She was also a night manager and smiling face At Biguns Bar-b-que for 5years.

Marilee’s eldest daughter Terrilee Johnson Wessling preceded her in death August 2018. She is survived by son Tad and his wife Jill Johnson of Delaware, Ohio; Son Thomas and his wife Marianne of Oldsmar, Florida; Daughter Tami Johnson Cullum and her husband David of Hernando Beach, Florida; Daughter Tonya Johnson Moore and her husband Murray of Spring Hill, Florida. Grandchildren ; Brandon Wessling, Heather Von Oesen, Josh Johnson, Jamie Johnson-Shaw, Jodie Johnson Thompson, Michael Cullum, Melissa Cullum Rummel, Kelly Johnson Elliott, Cody Johnson, Katie Johnson, Jonathan Hoffman and Tom Moore. Great Grand children; Molly, Jack, Collins Johnson, Kole and Kaleb Shaw, Kash Story, Tyler And Dylan Thomson, Chloe and Brody Skeens Riley and Madalyn Cullum, Michael and Malachi Rummel, Carson And Payton Hoffman.

Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
