Joyce Bergerson

Joyce Elaine Bergerson, born August 7th, 1926 to Vern and Ethel Fate in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, died January 7th, 2023 at Sturgill Hospice House, Brooksville, FL. She was raised on the family farm in southern Minnesota and met and married Marv Bergerson. They moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 1971. In 2001, they moved to Highpoint Community in Brooksville, Florida, where she lived for the next 21 years.

Joyce was a vibrant person that knew no stranger. She was always on the go: loved to travel, especially cruising; loved her Monday afternoon card group; loved going to Disney World and loved Jesus! She sang in a contemporary Christian music group for many years and continued to volunteer whenever she could.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 64 years, Marvin Kenneth Bergerson, her son, Thomas Bergerson and her grandson, Daniel Stanton.

Left to carry on her legacy are daughters Catherine (Ray) LaFore and Susan (Carl) Stanton. Grandchildren Scott (Anna) LaFore, Jessica (Todd) Coombs, Kristofer (Lindsey) LaFore, Michael (Carolyn) Stanton, and Katherine Stanton. Great-grandchildren Sawyer, Waylon, Judd, Rhett and Reese LaFore; Charlise and Amelia Coombs; Matthias, Abigail and Genevieve Stanton.

We will miss her amazing sense of humor, contagious laugh and comforting hugs. But, we rejoice that she is with her Savior and reunited with her husband, son, grandson and many other family members after living an amazing life on earth for 96 years.

Joyce will be interned with her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. A memorial service will be held at SpringLife Church in Spring Hill, Florida at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HPH Hospice, 12260 Cortez BLVD, Brooksville, FL or Paralyzed Veterans of America.
