Joan (Flynn) Bagaudae, 80, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2021. Joan, fondly called Joanie, was born in Newton, Massachusetts on August 29, 1941 to Thomas and Ruth Flynn. Like her dad and sister, Joanie graduated from Medford High School. She was married to Ashley Bagaudae in 1995 and he predeceases her. Joanie had a storied career, working from administrative support at Raytheon to being an in-home pediatric hospice nurse. Her love for her patients spoke of her deep commitment to her faith and humanity. Joan was a free spirit, making her own way in life while holding on to traditions. It would not be uncommon for to drive far and wide to spend time with family and friends, sharing her love, generosity, and laughter. She once drove a cooler of snow from Massachusetts to her sister’s family in Arlington, VA for a touch of Christmas up north. Joanie once said she asked for only two days off work: her birthday and baby Jesus’ birthday. Joan was a member of the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill, FL.
She is survived by her niece Karen Schultz (David Larson) and grand-nephew Holden of Minneapolis, MN, her nephews Ted Schultz of Lebanon, OH, and Rob Schultz of Ann Arbor, MI, and her cousins.
Funeral arrangements will be made and announced here at a later time. Joan is to be interned next to her husband Ashley at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Joanie’s love of cats and make a donation to Paw Warriors of Spring Hill, Florida.
Memorial mass will be held at 8:30am Thursday, March 31, 2022 located at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Florida.
