Geraldine T Serra

Geraldine (Gerri) is survived by her children, Dawn Quirino (née Serra) (Spouse: George Quirino) and Tracey Manfre (née Serra) (Spouse: Liam Manfre); her brothers, Everett Lackenbauer and John Lackenbauer; her grandchildren, Christopher Manfre (Spouse: Calista Manfre), Anthony Manfre, and Alexandra Serra (Fiancé: Matthew Evans); her great-grandchild, Liam Manfre; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Louis Serra; her mother, Theresa Lackenbauer (née Harris); her father, Everett Lackenbauer; and her brother, Joseph Lackenbauer.

Gerri was born in Queens, NY, on July 23, 1944, to Theresa and Everett Lackenbauer. In 1989 she and Lou moved down to Florida to escape the cold and begin a new chapter. Throughout her life, Gerri was heavily involved with her community through such organizations as the Fire Corps for Spring Hill, the Red Cross, and C.E.R.T. Here she not only served and supported her community but also built lasting friendships that became cornerstones in her life.

She was known to each and every animal that crossed her path as a kind and giving entity. Oftentimes taking in creatures of all sorts to heal or help them on their journey home - from your standard cat and dog to lizards, frogs, birds, and even starving coyotes in the area. Gerri's capacity to love and care for those around her was apparent in her dedication to her family and friends. Her home was one of welcoming warmth and her ear always bent to those that needed advice. Her presence will always be unmatched in its strength and it will follow all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Services will be held at the Turner Funeral Home at 14360 Spring Hill Drive on October 14th, 2023 between the hours of 10:00 am and 11:00 am.
