Gene and Bunny are family and good friends since George introduced us at their home in Long Island, NY. In 1972.

Gene always called me sis which I loved because he felt like a brother to me.

The four of us had wonderful times together whatever we were doing.

Rest in heaven Uncle Gene. One of the things I’ll always remember about you is, one of the first things you taught me “30 days in September, April June, and November. All the rest have 31 except February which stands alone” I know that’s silly but I will always have that memory of you teaching that to me. I was afraid of you as a toddler which is so silly, (I’m sure you can tell by this photo of me on his lap) but I know you always  loved me and you always wanted the best for me. These next upcoming holidays are definitely going to feel different but I know you are not suffering anymore and you are in the arms of Jesus now. ✝️

The relationship really grew when we got stationed at Wildwood.  Gene and Bunny would make a number of trips to our home where they were able to partake in one of their favorite pastimes in Atlantic City.   After we retired to Florida in 2001, we didn't see each other as often except for our trips to Maine, undoubtedly our favorite place to vacation.  Gene and I would do a lot of clamming and we were darn good at it.
It took Hurricane Sandy in 2012 to get them out of New York and on to Florida.   It was great to have them move so close to us.  We did so many things together, meals at each others homes, going out to eat, fishing and of course...golf.  How he loved to golf.  
Sadly, I'm the last of the four Launier boys, but my memories of them all will remain in my heart and mind, but Gene will be the one that I will think of most. I love you Bro, till we meet again.

Growing up,  the relationship I had with my brother Gene was not that close because of the age difference.  As we grew older, that relationship got much closer, especially after the Coast Guard stationed us at Rockaway and later at Governors Island.  We made many trips to their wonderful home in Lindenhurst where we enjoyed boating trips, fishing, clamming and Gene's famous bar-b-ques.  The picture below shows one great party celebrating Bunny's birthday.

I met Gene 6 years ago while playing in the golf league at his home course at Silverthorn. Since that time we played golf together on many occasions and I enjoyed them all. We became very good friends with him and Bunny and shared a lot of great times together. Gene was always kind, generous with a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.

Gene and I played golf on Mondays and Fridays at Silverthorn. He was a good friend, we had many good times. He will be greatly missed . Golf won't be the same without him.

The first time I met Gene was just after my son, Christopher, had retired from the USMC. We were paired up with Gene and had a wonderful time golfing and talking about  retirement.  Of course, Christopher got a job, but I continued to play on Fridays at Silverthorne. Gene was always so kind to ask how Christopher was doing with his job. I'm going to miss his kind hello at golf. We are praying for your family and offer our deepest blessings and condolences.

Gene,  the love of my life.  My best friend, my rock.  To list all the memories we had in 58 years, would take a book,  how you helped me through Br Cancer, the destruction and loss of our home, and we still found humor.  We even laughed at our screw ups. Having great parties and BarB Qs, for family and friends. You going digging for clams, then staying up till all hrs helping me make  baked clams, clam sauce for pasta, and clam chowder because you knew they  love these dishes . Taking trips , especially Main for all those years. The best was the birth of our sons Scott and Chris. Then the birth of our grandsons,  Charles and Grayson.  Just you and I spending time together, an unexpected hug, or kiss and a smile .  I will miss all of this , and dancing in the kitchen.  Thank you for your caring ways,  and a wonderful life,  full of great memories.. As always , I will love you now and forever, till the end of time.Bunny. ❤️💕P.S. we will dance to Moon River again

Bunny....
I know this is a most difficult time in your life and I could not be more touched in having had the chance to meet both of you.  You two showed so much love & admiration for each other, smiles and love in sharing your stories, giggles in finding that darn white car in the parking lot.  Now that was funny and I hope this little blip brings a smile to your face today as it will always be a fun moment in time for David and myself.  Truly an amazing couple with an amazing family.  Be still, watch for the red cardinal flying your way or the penny on the street as Gene will be your forever angel watching over you in all the days ahead.  God Bless both of you and the strength of love  you shared with everyone.  So very sorry for your loss.

My life was better to have known Gene. Moving to this area and Gene  took me under his wing and showed me some new golf courses. Playing golf was a great experience with him. He will be missed and thought of  throughout the rest of my life. He was a very special person whom I learned a few weeks after meeting him , we were in the same profession and shared many of the same experiences throughout our working career.  
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family as it is very difficult to lose a loved one.  Life will go on but the emptiness in your heart will always remain.  You must celebrate the life he live and cherish the time you knew him.

My father, was dearly loved by so many. He taught me love and we learned and tested it together, very well.   My mother and him were best friends, and madly in love.  Dad would always say one day, he won't be here. That day has come and gone.. Dad, I have never known a more honest man, and can't imagine a better father.  You were a excellent provider, a beloved husband, friend, father, and grandpa. I only pray you know now how proud we all are of you, how much you meant in our lives. I love you Daddy, I love the life you gave me, and us. I will always honor that and will always wish to make you proud..  Hope your first round with God went well, I imagine he plays well..   I imagine you catching up with you father, your mother, your brother John and Bobby, and was welcomed by Ronald.  Please play with Turbo, and ill be there to walk him when its time.. I love you, as I said nearly every day of my life, and felt before I could speak. . I last gave you a lot of kisses 3 days ago.  I will remember them forever, as I will your last words, look after ma.. We love you Dad ❤

Always remember all the fun we had with cousin Gene and all the Launier brothers at Hills Beach, Maine! They were the best clam diggers!  Rest in Peace Gene!
