MacGregor, Duncan Sanders, Sr., age 87 of Bayport, FL went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 22, 2018. He was born on August 31, 1930 in Hinsdale, IL and moved to Webster Grove, MO at age fifteen. Duncan enlisted in the US Army Reserves while attending college at Northwestern University. Upon his graduation from Northwestern, he served two additional years active duty in the US Army. Following his service, he began a business career as a self-employed Manufacturer’s Sales Representative and owned and operated MacGregor Associates, Automated Artists and Tartan Toolbox. Duncan was a dedicated Christian and a spiritual leader at the Methodist and Evangelical Free churches where he served. Duncan met the love of his life in New York City. They married and eventually settled in Florida, first in Clearwater and then later in Tarpon Springs. He will be greatly missed, but will be remembered as a devoted husband and avid family man, as well as a community leader who started UPARC (Upper Pinellas Association for Retarded Citizens) and helped in establishing the former Tarpon Spring YMCA. Duncan is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Martha Slayden MacGregor of Brooksville, FL; children, D. Travis (Jill) MacGregor, Mark (Debra) MacGregor, Revill (Katie) MacGregor, Slayden (Kathleen) MacGregor, Martha (Bob) MacGregor Zentmeyer, Duncan S. (Kristie) MacGregor; 20 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his twin brother, Douglas, 3 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 28th at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs, FL. Duncan will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL in a private family ceremony.
