Christine R. Pelletier, 54, of Spring Hill, Florida passed unexpectedly on Saturday April 20, 2019. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Wayne and Ramona Samson, the second youngest of five siblings. At a young age, Christine’s family relocated to Enfield, CT, where she spent most of her childhood and adult life until she relocated to Spring Hill, Florida in 2008.
MSGT Christine Pelletier joined the US Navy after graduating from Enrico Fermi High School in 1984, and piloted the base commander’s boat at Naval Base Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. Christine went on to serve her country overseas in a year tour for Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in 2004 working with the US Embassy with the US Army in the 143rd ASG. She continued her time as a GS 12 in the military after moving to Florida, where she worked for Central Command as a Senior FOIA/PA Analyst with US CENTCOM J6-RDF at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. Christine had two sons, Royce and Matthew Yeomans, before marrying her husband, David Pelletier in 1999, and adopting one daughter, Sarah Pelletier. Christine’s grandchild, Ava, was the light of her life and she cherished all of the time she spent with her.
Christine was known to always have a smile on her face, with an unforgettable laugh. She had a lot of hobbies including golf, taking her boat out on the weekends with her friends, taking her mom out shopping, and enjoying an occasional Captain Morgan and Diet Coke or Tito’s on the weekends. Most importantly, Christine enjoyed spending time with her family here in Florida and back in Connecticut.
Christine is survived by her beloved husband, David Pelletier, her sons, Royce Yeomans, Matthew Yeomans and wife Jessica Yeomans, her daughter, Sarah Pelletier, and the pride and joy of her life, granddaughter Ava Pelletier. She is also survived by her parents, Wayne and Ramona Samson, sister Cindy Samson-Jones and husband Dan Jones, sister Debbie Samson-Wright and husband, Trent Wright, brother Dwayne Samson, and Stephen Samson and wife Brenda Samson. Along with many nieces and nephews who she adored very much, including Jessica and Billy Jones, Kristin, Melissa, and Nicholas Wright, Brianna and Andrew Samson, and Jonathan, Katie, Thomas, and Rebecca Samson, and Nyree, Sheena, and Shauna O’Reilly, Michelle Pelletier, and Suzanne Murtagh. She is pre-deceased by nephew Dennis Perry.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at 4 pm at Turner Funeral Homes in Spring Hill, FL. At a later date, calling hours will also take place along with a military service and a burial in Connecticut.
