Timothy Charles Buchanan

Tim, affectionately known as Timmy, grew up on Fairchild AFB. As a baby, he loved food. Timmy would consume an 8 oz bottle of milk at an exceptional rate for a 2 month old. He loved bread giving him the nickname Breadman.

After the family moved to the Spokane Valley, Tim attended University Elementary, Bowdish Junior High and U High School. He was an outstanding athlete, he received his varsity letter in football, wrestling, track and field and achieved Hall of Fame status. As part of the 1997 Track and Field team they secured the state championship in the 4x100 relay with a time of 42.4. Individually, he set a school record for the 300-meter hurdles, completing it in 38.74 seconds. and set impressive school records that still stand in 2023, such as the 4x100 relay (42.18a) and the 1600 Meter Relay (3:21.49).

Laughter and comedy; abundant in his presence. Tim’s laughter made his entire body laugh. He frequently delighted in performing karaoke with his siblings and friends. Timmy’s love of fashion from head to toe, rarely as a child was he seen without brown cowboy boots, which likely contributed to his love for the Dallas Cowboys. It was easy to understand his love of Barbery and Dem Boyz. Timmy aspired to own a barber shop and spent several years as a barber in WA and CA. Tim also excelled as a Property Manager while in CA. His diligence in management contributed to the company’s record profits and success.

Tim's greatest joy lay in his family, especially his cherished children. From cutting their hair to teaching them essential life skills along with swimming and bike riding, he created countless precious memories.

Timothy C. Buchanan will be greatly missed and is survived by his parents Timothy B. Buchanan and Bernice Buchanan, children: Makayla Kapisi (married to Jared Kapisi), Rilee Fish, Aliviah Buchanan, Tre Buchanan, and Javonte Buchanan. He is also survived by his siblings: Belinda (Kaye), Melinda (Faye), Kimberly, Eric, Bernadette, Anthony and Dorothy. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and an uncle.

A visitation for Timothy will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 09:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 West Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 12:30 PM, 5100 West Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA 99205. A graveside service will occur Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
