Passed peacefully to the next world on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at home as was his wishes.
Tom was born December 29, 1932 in Allentown, PA. He was active in Grace Episcopal Church as an altar boy and sang in the choir. He was active in playing basketball during his high school years. He hung out at Yocco’s for hot dogs and steak sandwiches and each trip back to Allentown, he shared that experience.
After graduation, Tom joined the United States Air Force in 1950, serving proudly the next 20 years with tours in Korea and Viet Nam. He served in the military police and shot in marksman competitions. In September 1957, he married Rose Corosian. Together they brought two children into their lives, Tamara C. Faust Milliron and Charles Thomas Faust. In 1971, after retiring from the military and making his home in Spokane, he joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Spokane Aerie #2 became his home Aerie and he served throughout his lifetime. Tom served as State President in 2000-2001 making the elephant a part of his legend. In 1984, he married Janis Weatfall. They spent their lives with horses and the Eagles, dedicating their lives to the principals and charity work. After Jan’s passing in 2007, Tom married Donna Hicks in 2011. She survives him at the family home in Omak.
Tom is survived by his sister, Stella Faust-Folk; two nephews, Jon and Jeff (Jane) Herman all of Pennsylvania; his daughter, Tamara of Reno, NV; his son Chuck of Spokane; grandson, Ryan (Amber) in the US Army stationed in Alaska; granddaughters, Tiana of Las Vegas, NV and Melissa of Spokane; and great granddaughter, Bethany Rose of Spokane. He enjoyed his stepchildren Benita (Eric) Smith of Battleground, WA; Robert Yates (Hannah) of St. Louis, MO; and Matthew Wilson (Stephanie) of Port Angeles, WA. Grandchildren, Sean Gow (Laura), Taylor Haase (Brandon), Sam Johnston, Ryden and Koopyr Yates, Brendan, Andrew and Gabriel Wilson; and great grandson Liam Haase.
We would like to thank Dr. Dionne, Cancer Care NW, Dr. Dong, Frontier Home and Hospice staff and Matthew and Brendan Wilson who assisted in his care during his short battle with cancer.
Visitation will be at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home on Saturday April 1, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service at the Spokane Eagles #2 on Sunday April 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Happy Watkins officiating and Eagle ritual tribute by Past State Presidents. Burial will be on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., at the WA St. Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to “Honor Flight” or the charity of your choice.
