Sid was born to Sidney and Myrtie Johnson in Williston, North Dakota on February 1, 1945. As a youngster Sid lived in various towns and cities in Montana including Bozeman, Missoula, Havre, Anaconda, and Choteau. He moved to Spokane in 1959 and attended Shadle Park High School. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball and graduated from Shadle in 1963. Sid attended Eastern Washington University and graduated in 1967 with a business degree. He continued at EWU and earned his Masters Degree in Business Science with Accounting in 1969. He then went on to serve in the Army from 1969-1971 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.
Sid returned to Spokane and taught business courses at EWU 1972-1973. Sid was especially proud of passing all portions of the CPA exam in his initial sitting. He joined the accounting firm of LeMaster & Daniels in 1973 and became a Partner in the firm in 1982. He retired in 2011.
Sid was preceded in death by his parents, Sid & Myrtie. He is survived by his wife of 23+ years, Cathy; sons Scott (Christy) and Keith, stepdaughter Erika Naccarato (Derek) and stepson Kenny Rodriguez; sisters Kaye Pruett (Fred) and Sue Busse (Bob); and brother J.T. (Mary) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a beloved Papa to Tyler, Emily, Marissa, Lucy, Jack and Benjamin. Sid's grandchildren were the lights of his life.
Sid was a wise and wonderful man to all who had the privilege to know him. He enjoyed getting to know new people and always had time to chat over a cup of coffee. We love you, Papa.
Per Sid's request, no service will be held. Public visitation after his cremation will be held at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane WA, 99205 on Wednesday, July 26th from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm. His final resting place will be at Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, WA.
