I've never lost someone so close to me before this. I didn't know your brain could fight so hard to make something seem as unreal as this feels. 
We lost a great woman on May 8th. She was a mother, a sister, a best friend... one that was unique and can never be replaced.

She was the kind of person who's laugh would make you smile and who's love made you feel complete. She would always make an effort to share your interests and lend an ear when she had time to listen. Beautiful but not conceited, dedicated but not greedy. Her strengths truly outshined her flaws.

I know that she is in a better place. She is free of the worries she once had, the pain she once felt and the restrictions she once faced... free to help guide us as we continue to struggle with ours. I will always love you and miss you, Mom, and I know that my world will never be the same.
