Sandra Sue Shields (Franklin) was born on 3/15/1949 in Spokane, Washington and died on 8/31/2017 at the Hospice House North in Spokane. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary Shields, and 2 daughters Susan Clair and Amber Shields. She is also survived by her mother, Isabel Martinek, 3 sisters Jean Wheelock, Peggy Lindquist and Kay Aiken, and 1 brother Steve Franklin. She also has 1 granddaughter, Katie Prior, and 1 grandson Patrick Prior. She was born in Spokane and then the family moved to Oregon. She moved back to Spokane after graduating from high school. Sandra got married To Gary Shields and lived in Spokane Valley for 10 years. They moved to Green Bluff after she and her husband built a house. Sandra had a love for horses, camping, painting, reading and quilting. She joined the Green Bluff Home-Economics club and was chairperson for the quilt committee for 22 years. She only gave it up after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was unable to do the things that she loved. She will be cremated and her memorial service will be held on Sept 30, 2017 at the Green Bluff Grange in Green Bluff, Washington at 11:00 am. Pot luck will follow after the service in the Grange basement. Donations are to be sent to Hospice of Spokane in Sandra’s name.
