Robert H. Gifford passed away peacefully in the company of his wife, Carol, on January 9, 2014. He was born October 6, 1934 in Spokane, WA to Bill and Belle Gifford. He graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1953, where he met the love of his life, Carol McKay. He was a high school athlete and a stand-out baseball player with the LC Tigers. He served three years in the U.S. Army, before attending Kinman Business School where he earned a degree in accounting. Bob, Carol and their sons, Brian and Bruce moved to Marysville, WA in 1963. Bob retired from GTE after 30 years, at which time he and Carol moved back home to Spokane. In his retirement he enjoyed golf, bowling and time spent with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol; his son, Bruce (Marci); daughter-in-law, Annette Gifford; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his son, Brian. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by so many who loved him. There will be a service at Moran Cemetery, 7204 S. Palouse Hwy., Spokane on Saturday, January 25 at 1:00pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Union Gospel Mission, Spokane, WA.
