Riley, Pauline (Age 96) Pauline Riley passed away Friday evening November 11, 2011 at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Spokane, WA. Pauline was born November 27, 1914 in Helena, MO to Thomas and Maude Cordry. Pauline graduated from Lafayette High School, St. Joseph, MO in 1934. She married Don Riley in 1935. She was active and attended Savannah Ave Baptist Church. She was a Lab Tech at St. Joseph Sisters Hospital until she moved to San Diego, CA in 1957. She attended San Diego Community College receiving an AA Degree in Science. After passing her State Board, she received a job as a Lab Technician at College Park Hospital in San Diego, until her retirement in 1985. Pauline moved to Spokane WA in 1987 where she immediately became an active member of Park Heights Baptist Church as well as The South Hill Senior Center, Christ Lutheran Senior Center, and the Spokane Chapter of The Gold Star Mothers. Pauline was preceded in death by Tom & Maude Cordry; sisters, Ada Francis and Lenis Banks; 3 brothers, Marion, Howard and Dale Cordry; her son Daniel B. Riley; and her daughter, Gayle Bates of Spokane WA. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Donna Neighbour, of Nine Mile Falls, WA; Grandchildren: Clare Neighbour of Nine Mile Falls, Gayle Allison(Jack) of Spokane, Willard Neighbour of Spokane, Jon Neighbour, of Portland, OR, Paige Vail(Mike) of Wenatchee, WA, Dr. James Nielsen(Kathy) of NY, NY, and Jill Nielsen-Farrell of Delaware, OH. Great Grandchildren: Darcy Erickson(Craig) of Deer Park, WA, Kristy Lentz(David) of Spokane, WA, Connor and Erika Vail of Wenatchee, WA, Ella, Willam, and Leila Nielsen of NY, NY, Walker & Avery Nylan of Delaware, OH. Great -Great Grandchildren: David W. Lentz of Spokane, WA, Desmond, Chase, Oliveah, Logan, and Gage Erickson of Deer Park, WA. The Spokane local chapter of The Patriot Guard Riders will be honoring Pauline as she is the first Gold Star Mother to receive this honor. Services will be held at Driscoll Blvd Baptist Church 4815 N. Driscoll Blvd on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 10:30 am. Pastor Mike Erickson presiding. Internment to follow at Fairmount Memorial Cemetery immediately following the service.
