“Big Mike’s in the house”
On May 26, 2018, Mike Walsh passed away at Valley Hospital in Spokane Valley, Washington. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Mike had a zest for life and a love of family and friends that is rarely matched. He was first and foremost a family man. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings. He also cherished his MANY friends.
Mike was a “truck drivin’ man” for 45 years. He always worked for air freight companies and retired as an owner operator. He was also a tireless worker in the cause of his many interests and projects. He loved aviation, crafts, police work, medicine and working out. He was a cook and baker “par excellence”. He loved all country music but was especially fond of the old genre that his father loved.
Mike was married to Marilyn Maas for 24 years and they raised three children, Chris Walsh, Jennifer Tomlinson (Gary) and Andrew Walsh. He married the love of his life, Shirley Mann, on January 26, 1992 and they were happily married at the time of his death.
Mike could make anyone feel loved and make anyone laugh. He was patient and he was kind. He was a keen observer of humanity. When you spoke with Mike you always felt understood and cared for. He was grateful for his life until the day he died and felt compassion for others less fortunate. He always saw the best in people and he never complained.
His services will be held at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd. in Spokane Valley, Washington.
There will be visiting hours from 1-5 pm on Monday, June 4th with a service immediately following.
There will be a celebration of his life with a pot luck at Pavillion Park after the service.
