Mike, age 54 of Mead, WA. passed away on November 21st, 2021, in Spokane, WA. Mike was born on October 23rd, 1967, to Claire Jannette Peak and Michael James Peak. He has 3 sisters, Sandi Gering, Barbara McCabe, and Michelle Brodeur, and stepfather Jerry Hermsmeier, stepbrothers Scott Hermsmeier, and Chris Hermsmeier.
Mike graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1986 and went on to Eastern Washington University for communications. Mike married Karen L Eklund in 1988 and they had 1 daughter Alisha Marie Peak in 1992.
Mike is survived by his wife Karen of Mead, WA, his daughter Alisha of Spokane Valley, his mother Claire and stepfather Jerry of Spokane Valley, his sister Barbara of Sacheen Lake, WA, his sister Michelle of Arizona, his stepbrothers Scott and Chris, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Michael Peak, his sister Sandi Gering, his grandpa Dale Peak, grandma Shirley Peak of UT, his grandpa John Beaudin and Grandma Lucienne Beaudin of Canada, along with his birth mother Kathleen Westover and his birth Father Rick Morgan.
He has an extended family, he was able to meet his brother Kurt Lunz and sister Tara Miller along with 2 of his uncles David Westover and Jim Westover on his birth mother's side, and on the birth father's side his grandpa Byrte Morgan and Stepmother Rose Morgan, and 2 sisters Athena Dunham and Anna Brining.
Mike was a man that enjoyed electronics and worked for Toys R Us for many years and went on to work for Best Buy opening the store at the Y and that is where he stayed in many positions until 2013 when he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and became disabled. He was a very strong man and took on many challenges with his health over the 29 years he fought with it, many times working full time to provide for his family. Mike also recently became a dual citizen of Canada which was very special and important to him.
Mike enjoyed video games with his buddies, Sci-Fi Movies, Star Trek, and board games. He enjoyed making people smile and laugh and had a load of knowledge of miscellaneous information.
He loved to find out things about history and how things were made. He was an amazing man and loved by many and will be missed greatly.
Celebration of Mike's life will be announced later to be held sometime in the spring or early summer of 2022.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, and coordinators of Providence Spokane Cardiology and Sacred Heart Hospital nurses and care teams for their loving, compassionate care of Mike.
