Age 95
Mary Pry passed away peacefully Wednesday,
January 11th at Hospice House of Spokane.
She was born March 6, 1921 in Cudahy, Wisconsin.
Her father and mother, George and Mary (Ropicky) Petrina,
older brothers George and Paul then made their home
in Alaska where her father was a gold miner. Superior,
Wyoming was their next home where twin sisters
Margaret and Marjorie were born. Mary graduated
from Superior High School in 1939. She was married
and had daughter Carol. She then moved to Bremerton,
Washington and worked for the Railway Express Agency.
She married Harley Pry in 1950 and moved to Spokane
where daughter Janet was born. Mary owned the
Merle Norman shop at University City Mall in the 1970’s.
She loved to golf and belonged to Esmeralda and Downriver
ladies golf clubs. She won many awards and made a hole-in-one
at 71 years old on June 6, 1992. She was also involved
in various bridge groups and enjoyed Wii bowling in the
retirement homes. The family wishes to extend heartfelt
thanks and deep appreciation to the staff at The Academy
Assisted Living Community (Spokane) for their loving care
for our mother and grandmother. Mary leaves behind
daughters Carol Kamm and Janet Pry; 7 grandchildren
and 16 great grandchildren. A celebration of Mary’s life
will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, January 18, 2017,
at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Donations may be made
to Hospice House of Spokane.
