I was just taking a walk down memory lane and began thinking of Mary Lou.  I lived with her while she served as volunteer at Ysleta Lutheran Mission in El Paso, TX.  She was a ball of energy, spitfire, go-getter, and always had a kind and encouraging word.  She was a daily example to me in so many ways.  
One of my favorite memories of her is from my first week in El Paso.  I, a fluent Spanish speaker, watched her (a non-Spanish speaker) laugh and joke and carry on a conversation with the biggest smiles with one of the mission pastors in front of the church after morning devotions.  Since he only spoke Spanish I asked her “how are you guys even understanding each other?”  She replied, motioning with her arms, “He makes some signs like this, I make some signs like that, we Look at each other and say the words,  And somehow we just figure it out! Love communicates!” And they gave each other a big hug.  She had a big heart and spoke often of her family. She impacted many for good that you might not even know about ~ like me.

I hope sincerely that Mary Lou rests peacefully now, and that it hasn't been too hard on you both.

She and your whole family showed such kindness to us through the years, and I have many happy memories with, and because of you all.

Dear Mary Lou, may you rest in peace.  You and I have been friends for many years.  We loved bargain hunting and making something out of nothing.  Your kindness to Jason was always appreciated.   I wish you two could have taken a road trip in your miata's.  Although you know I would have been a nervous wreck.

I am sorry to hear of Mary Lou's passing.  Although we had lost contact over the past couple of years, I have thought of her often. We had been friends for many years and shared a lot of great memories.   May she rest in peace.
