He joined the Air Force in August 1950, and retired October 1970 as SMSGT. During his service he spent time in Puerto Rico, Thailand, Guam, and 16 years at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane. He worked at the Bureau of Mines 1979 and retired in 1991.
Lyle was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary Miller, his parents, siblings Maxine, Donald, and George, and step-son in-law Dee Waggy.
He is survived by daughters Candy Miller, Cindy Miller, and Tammy (Ricky) Bowen, stepdaughters Linda Waggy and Cheryl (Mike) Maiola, grandsons Brett, Bryce, and Brady Bowen, grand-daughter Shannon Whitney and grandsons Dwayne, Loren, and Daniel Waggy.
Lyle married the love of his life, Rosie in 1973 and together they enjoyed a life of RV travels, bowling, softball coaching, fishing, golf, and spending time with family.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1973.
The family will hold a private graveside service. Lyle will be buried with military honors at Fairmount Memorial Park.
