Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Rachel, and his sister, Janet Bolton.
Ken is survived by his brothers: Frank, Bob, and Don Galusha. He is also survived by his three children: Evonne Smith, Mike Galusha (and wife, Dawn), and Kim Lienhard (and husband, Nick). He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Kyle and Nathan Smith, Michael and Justin Galusha, and Kaylee, Andy, and Emily Lienhard.
Ken was a lively and adventurous child and young adult. He had quite a few nice cars. He loved to dance and sing. He was well known in Las Vegas for his karaoke!
Ken served in the Army and was stationed in the DMZ in Korea from 1968-1969. He served his country well. We are proud of his military service.
Ken was a force to be reckoned with. He loved life and lived it on his own terms. He loved his job as a railroader and was very proud of his career with Santa Fe and Amtrak—he did a great job of providing for his family. He really enjoyed summer vacations spent camping at Lake Powell. He loved boating, fishing, and enjoyed teaching his children how to ski and fish. He loved animals of all kinds. He always fed the birds in his yard, and loved his own animals, Tommy, Chico, and Sissy. He enjoyed making his yard beautiful. He would always say that God created the Earth to be beautiful, and that God was evident in the beauty of nature. He always had the most beautiful and fragrant rose bushes. He had productive fruit trees and a lovely garden every year. He enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with family, friends, and neighbors. He had a love of cooking and enjoyed a variety of different cuisines. His macaroni and cheese was a family favorite! He loved his family so very much, more than he could express. He would smile and his eyes would light up when speaking about his children.
He battled cancer twice, but he never let it stop him. He was a strong-willed fighter and taught us all what strength and perseverance looked like.
We were all blessed to call him Brother, Dad, Pops, Popsy, Grandpa, and Gramps! We love you and will miss you forever.
In lieu of flowers, please share a meal with family, friends, or a neighbor. Plant a rose bush or fruit tree in your garden to honor his memory.
