On November 2, 1937, June married Lennis Kile of Pine City, and they moved to Spokane to begin their life together. Lennis was killed in an industrial accident in 1947, leaving June to raise their two sons alone. She was committed to her family and to the Church of Christ of which she was a life-long member.
June is survived by two sons, Dale Kile of Spokane Valley & Timothy (& Emily) Kile of Spokane; three grandchildren: Gina Heritage of Spokane, WA; Matthew (& Mali) Voloshin-Kile of Alliance, NE; Miranda (& Dan) Heath of Spokane, WA; six great-grandchildren: Larissa Wardrip, Tanner Brown, Jaycilyn Jefferson, Lasha Voloshin, Madilyn Heath, and Randy Heath; one great-great grandson: Jack Wardrip.
June was preceded in death by her husband Lennis Kile, 2 infant children, her parents Roy & Bessie Smith, her brother Hugh Smith, and her sister Joy Fitzsimmons.
Funeral Services will be held at the Northside Church of Christ, 5601 N. Jefferson St., Spokane, WA, on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. Interment will follow at the Pine City, WA, Cemetery at approximately 3:00 PM. Arrangements are being handled through Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the “Bud Fitzsimmons Memorial Fund” in care of Northside Church of Christ, 5601 N. Jefferson St., Spokane, WA 99205.
