I loved my Grandma. She was sweet, funny, and sassy. She was creative, talented, and a worry wart. I don't recall a negative bone in her body. She was a source of love and humor. I wish I had known her when she was younger.
I don't do well with death and saying goodbye. It has been heavy on my heart since my grandma left. Having no choice but to confront it, I have come to this conclusion. Death is not bad. It brings rest and it brings peace. Death has saved me from what I deserve. Death brings life again to those who love Jesus. 
The next time I see my Grandma we will laugh together. I will let her know that I love her and we will be young again. Happy Birthday Grandma, I love you.

Joyce was the Mother of a good friend of mine, Brian.  I will never forget the day she had made a huckleberry pie and I was invited to dinner. After dinner I was asked if I would like some. Brian knowing that I didn't like Huckleberries told his Mother that I loved them and she gave me a extra large piece of pie. I politely ate it as Brian laughed at me. I have never eaten huckleberries again. Good memory anyway. Joyce was a special Christian Lady that I always enjoyed. She attended our church for many years, until she moved away... Rest in Peace, Joyce.

Dear Family,

Sorry to hear the loss of your mother. I remember her being a very kind and soft-spoken person. She loved to paint! I remember, staying with Grandma in Fair Oaks and all the girls would get together. Grandma loved those visits.  
Your mom came to our wedding with my mom, which met a lot to Mary and I. We visited her for the weekend when Marie was just a baby.  She gave us all foot massages, which were great. 

Remember all the good times.  We are keeping your families in our prayers.

Joyce was my favorite aunt.  She was the one person, when I was young, who seemed to understand me.  My mother would buy me clothes or toys but often wouldn't let me wear them or play with them for fear I would ruin them.  Much to my dismay, I often grew out of clothes without ever wearing them.  Joyce once gave me a nightgown and insisted to my mother that I wear it to bed that night!  I was ever so grateful--and so delighted to wear my new nighty!  A small thing, but it was so very important to me.  Joyce understood.  More recently, she would send me a card or a painting every St. Patrick's Day--until she no longer could.  She knew how much I had enjoyed my year in Ireland, and she always reminded me....  She was thoughtful and generous, no matter what the distance.  I wish I could be there for her memorial.  I would very much like to finally meet all of her family and make them mine as well.  Kathleen Redmond Boyne
