John Fredrick Seger of Medical Lake, WA, passed away on September 30, 2017. John was born October 9, 1947 in Spokane, WA. He attended Hamilton and Lidgerwood Elementary and John Rogers High School before leaving to serve in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy in 1964. After the Navy he lived in Lomita, CA, before returning to Spokane in the early 1980’s.
On August 24, 1985, he married the love of his life, Heidi, and after a few years moved to Deep Creek, WA area and raised their family.
John was an accomplished mechanic and particularly loved 1974-79 era Ford pick-up trucks. He spent many hours finding junk trucks and restoring them to glory, leaving several for his children to treasure. He also enjoyed raising horses, fishing, hunting, golfing, and motorcycle trips with his wife; any outing with his family and friends by his side.
In his retirement, John discovered a great fit for his abilities matched with his enjoyment of children driving a school bus for Medical Lake. The past few years he also found brotherhood riding his motorcycle with other veterans in the Run for the Wall.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Lester and Helen Seger, his in-laws Gene and Joan Wilson, his son, Seth David Seger, and brother James M Seger.
Survivors, whose lives were so enriched by this man, include his beloved and devoted wife Heidi Wilson-Seger, his sons, John L Seger (Deb) of Brier, WA, and James L Seger (Danielle) of Houston, TX, and his daughter, Shastina Seger of Airway Heights, WA. He also leaves a brother, Jerry L Seger, Parker, AZ, sisters JoNell Edlin (Tom) of Veradale, WA, and Joice Comer (Lloyd) of Spokane, WA. His beloved granddaughters, Mathilda Seger, Portland, OR and Cheyanna Wing, Davenport, WA. In addition, he leaves many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He also leaves a man whom he welcomed into his home as a teen and thought of as a child of the family, David Kelley.

Services will be held at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 Monroe St, Spokane, WA on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. A graveside will follow at Spokane Memorial Gardens.
