John was my favorite manager to work with for the last 2 1/2 years. His dedication to the program and the young men he served was inspirational. He had an amazing way of connecting with the Kiddos. It was his gift. Praying for all John's family and friends as they go through this heartbreaking time.

My family and I have known John since he was a little boy.  He was one of my cub scouts in 3rd grade.  I was fortunate to watch him grow from a nice young man into a loving, kind, and caring husband, father and friend.  I am thankful for the times he was co-pilot with Troy Johnson and plowed my driveway after it snowed.  My sympathy to all of you as you move forward without your son, brother, husband, father and friend.  Rest in peace John..

About two weeks ago I talked with John Ellis... we were planning a get together at the kids from the 80's reunion and after. I just got back in town and heard the news, I still cannot believe!!! I'm at a loss for words, shocked, disbelief, crushed! I miss you John... I miss you more than I can say. I was so looking forward to getting together after all the years. I lost a good friend and a great person..........

I had the pleasure of being one of John's teachers and coaches at Nine Mile Elementary and later at Mead High School. He was focused, team oriented, and very coachable. He competed to his fullest and for that, was well liked and well respected by his teammates. He was quiet and thoughtful, but also possessed a good sense of humor. He was a great kid. My prayers are with the Ellis family at such an early passing.
