Mom’s Motto “Life is for living!!”
Janette was born in Mt. Vernon, Washington on January 10, 1925 to Anna and Ed Looper. She graduated from Bremerton High School and then met and married her husband, Bob Wintermute in March of 1943. Mom explored her artistic side by designing and creating works of art ranging from beaded cross stitch, stained glass, jewelry, welding, furniture refinishing, and more. As you can see we are very proud of her and we all treasure the things she created for us. Mom encouraged all to explore the great outdoors. She would inspire everyone by taking them agate hunting at the beach or hiking to identify wildflowers. By her definition she was a risk taker and enjoyed flying in a bi-plane, riding in a helicopter, a hot air balloon, a powered parachute, and a glider. She did her share of volunteering over the years by being a Bible school teacher, a Girl Scout Leader, PTA, Meals on Wheels, and was a docent at the Cheney Cowles Museum. Janette’s spirit lives on in her three daughters and their families. Pat (Jerry) Husband of Quincy, Kathie (Paul) Lundy of Spokane, and Geri (Mike) Burt of Shelton along with her grandchildren Kristie Lautenbach, Cassi Guenther, Rob Husband, and Jena Russell and her great grandchildren McKenna, Darrick, Wade, Tevon, Sam, Callie, Emma, and Ben. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her parents and her brother, Marvin. At her request there will be no formal service. Her family will celebrate her life at a later date. Arrangements by Ball & Dodd and donations can be made to Hospice House of Spokane. As our dad would say “have a good day”.
