James L. Murray, Jr., 69, passed away in Spokane, WA on May 26, 2018 following a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was born at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio on Oct. 18, 1948. Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Lee Murray and daughters Charity Murray of Spokane, WA and Major Faith Kelly, MD of Vacaville, CA and sister Lucy Howell of Coronado, CA.
Jim served aboard the USS Detroit in the Mediterranean in 1970. He was employed by the City of Spokane for over 30 years until his retirement in 2009. Jim loved to playing golf, long distance biking, running, and was an avid bowler. When he could no longer actively participate in sports, he was a volunteer bowling coach at Lilac Lanes in Spokane.
The Memorial Service for Jim will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 11:00 am at Spokane First Assembly of God, 828 W. Indiana Ave., Spokane, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Jim can be made to the Union Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 4066, Spokane, WA 99220
