Jacob was born on August 16, 1993, in Riverside California. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 2013 and Spokane Community College in 2020 with a Welding Certificate. Jacob worked as a welder for SteelFab, formerly known as Brooklyn Iron Works in Spokane.
Jacob enjoyed playing guitar and piano and though he had never taken a lesson or learned to read music could play almost anything by ear. He also enjoyed online gaming, often playing games with his brother and other close friends online. His family and friends will always remember him as a kind and generous person, who refused to judge others, often reminding everyone that they did not know what someone was going through, and therefore should not judge.
Jacob is survived by his mother Elizabeth Thorland, his stepfather Scott Thorland, his father Brian Cook, his brother Michael Cook, his sister-in-law Haruka Koshiko-Cook and his sister Aimie Thorland.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Ball and Dodd funeral home 5100 W Wellesley Ave in Spokane Washington. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jacob’s life.
