Irene Mae Allen

Irene Mae Allen (Pansy Flett) Passed away June 15, 2013 in Spokane, WA. Irene was born December 9, 1939 to Alex Flett and Lula Smith of Wellpinit, WA. Irene was Miss Spokane Indian in 1957. She loved going fishing and going to powwows to watch her family drum and dance. She loved to read books, doing crossword/jigsaw puzzles and doing a little gambling. She loved Motown music and spending time with her many grandchildren, family and friends. She is survived by: a sister, Marge Carson and a brother, Sid Flett Sr; daughters, Wanda (Bob) Alderson and Evlamae (James) Blue; sons, Rommell (Josette) Allen, Thornton (Tessy) Allen, and Anthony Allen; nineteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Major Allen; son, Kevin Flett; sister, Lillian Spegal; brothers, Fred, Dave, Clutch, Art, Eugene (Seb), Leonard, Ernie and Richard; grandchildren, Anthony Jr, Malcom, William, Aurora and Lenora Allen. A Wake will be held Tuesday June 18, 2013 7:00pm at the Spokane Tribal Longhouse in Wellpinit, WA. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday June 19, 2013 10:00am at the Wellpinit Longhouse. Interment to follow at the Presbyterian Cemetery, Wellpinit, WA. Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W. Wellesley Avenue, Spokane has been entrusted by the family with her care.
