Genevieve Hughes McDonald

Genevieve moved to Tennessee in 1933 and to Washington in 1935 when she was in the 7th grade.

She graduated from Otis Orchards High School in 1941. Genevieve met and married Conway on November 18, 1943. They were married for 56 years and lived at Mt. Hope, WA where they farmed for many years. Genevieve spent the last 8 years in Covington, WA where she could be close to her daughter. She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and Eastern Star.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband Conway in 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Launa Boyle (Jerry) Kent, WA; son, Myron McDonald (Linda),Spokane, WA., grandchildren, Kimberly Nuckles (Selwyn) Brier, WA, Ryan Boyle,Buckley, WA, Alisha McVicker (Shawn) Spokane, WA, Amy Szafransky (Matt) Rathdrum, ID., great-grandchildren, Cameron Hewitt, Amani Nuckles, Aynika Nuckles, Alexis McVicker, Abbie McVicker, Brittany Charles and Christopher Szafransky.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rockford United Methodist Church, 217 S. 1st St., PO Box 37, Rockford, WA 99030 or the Mt. Hope Cemetery, 21311 S. Arnold Rd. Fairfield, WA 99012.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA. Burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Fairfield, WA.

Visitation will be held from 3 PM – 8 PM, Friday, September 23, 2016 at Thornhill Valley Chapel.
